About Us
McKenna was a single mom and high school teacher looking for a way to make a little extra money to help pay for her son’s baseball. With a background in art and a love for creating, she began painting homecoming jeans and quickly realized people wanted something different than the typical game day look.
What started as a side hustle at her kitchen table grew into something much bigger. Using her own floral patterns, McKenna began designing Deer Park T-shirts that blended school spirit with her more unique style. Those designs didn’t stay local for long. As demand grew, so did The Petal Collective— expanding into other schools, new products, and a growing community of customers who wanted something original.
Along the way, life grew too. After marrying her husband Nathan, she gained a business partner who believed in the business as much as she did. With his encouragement—McKenna took a leap of faith. After having their second son, she stepped away from teaching to run The Petal Collective full time.
Today, while she still paints homecoming jeans each year, the business has shifted into creating original, floral-based designs across a wide range of products from apparel to stadium seats to floral blankets and baby wear.
The Petal Collective is still growing, still creating, and still rooted in the same place it started—hard work, creativity, and doing something a little differently.
